BRYAN, Texas – The Girls 2026 3SSB season is off to an elite start, featuring standout matchups throughout opening day. The excitement was amplified by the release of the Harden 10 “3SSB” shoe, creating a unique energy in the gym and an ideal stage for some of the nation’s top players to compete. One of the marquee games not only showcased two championship teams but also featured the top-ranked player from each team’s country.
Day 1: April 17

Defending Champs Square Off
The defending U17 and U16 teams faced off in the opening game of their season with 7 Days out of California and United Mission out of Toronto. Kaleena Smith led the charge for 7 days, the defending 17 champs with 20 points, 8 steals, 6 assists and 5 rebounds in the 68-39 win.
7 Days has a new look with more pressure on the defensive end. In addition to Smith’s play, the defending champs got stellar play from two new faces on the 17U squad with Jordan Brown scoring 16 and Chloe Jenkins adding 14 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Both are class of 2029 budding stars.
United Mission has most of the pieces back from its 3SSB 16U championship squad, including the top ranked player in Canada, Avery Arije. The class of 2027 standout scored 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
Texas Two-Stepping
Two 3SSB 17U teams from the Lonestar State made major statements on the opening day. Early in the afternoon FAM Hoops bested a highly talented Next Level team despite the 18 point performance from their 2028 guard Dakhari “Strawberry” Blankumsee. FAM got a dynamite performance from A’Zyua Blair who scored 21 points on 8 of 14 shooting while snatching 4 steals. She was joined by a new face, Miciah Fusilier who chipped in 11 points and 4 rebounds in the 64-48 win.Another Texas-based program with title aspirations is Southwest Select. Their opening night opponent was 2025 adidas 3SSB runner-up Utah Lady Prospects who returns one of the circuit’s top players, Nation Williams. Southwest Select used a 9-0 run in the first quarter to set the tone and played steady throughout for a 61-49 win. Highly touted Eve Long had 24 points and 10 rebounds for Southwest Select while Utah Lady Prospects was led by Williams’ 22 points and 17 rebounds.
Purple Aces Debut
The Wisconsin-based Purple Aces made their 3SSB debut in a down to the wire matchup with Southeast All Stars. The Aces duo of 2028 forward Leah Awe and 2027 Iowa commit Jada Seubert combined for 25 points and 14 rebounds but came up a little short against SAS. Indiana commit Finley Parker scored a game high 15 points while Lindsey Kpacek scored 13 points on just 6 shots for the Atlanta-based program. UCLA commit Ginny Anne Dumont played nearly the whole game tallying 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals. SAS was playing without nationally ranked Jessie Moses who is
working her way back from a knee injury.
An Epic Clash at 16U
Two of the projected favorites to make a run for the 16U Division championship this
summer squared off on opening day in Southeast All Stars and Southwest Select.
Behind the 20 points and 4 rebounds from Ella Watts, SAS held a narrow lead for most
of the game before Southwest Select made a late rally, claiming a brief lead before
falling 50-46. Neither team shot the ball well but a 24-14 rebounding margin plus Watts scoring proved enough.
